Take it to the streets: Street Art
What can we
learn from the writing (or indeed the paintings) on the wall? It occurred to me
recently that I had amassed a little collection of photographs of street art acquired
during my travels in various places. I’m sure I shall add to these, but I think
the examples I currently have are worth sharing. They demonstrate considerable
artistic flair and skill, of course, and contextualising them in terms of place
inevitably influences what we infer about their creation and meaning. Putting
this piece together was quite interesting, as the juxtaposition of these images
in itself gave me something to muse upon. A picture is worth a thousand words, as
we all know, and I think these are best appreciated with little in the way of
commentary from me.
